St. Jude Patient of the Month: Liliana
Liliana's Story
Two weeks was all it took to change Liliana鈥檚 life. At first, she had a fever that wouldn鈥檛 break. Then after severe stomachaches and persistent nosebleeds, Liliana鈥檚 parents took her to their local hospital in search of answers.
At just 8 years old, Liliana was diagnosed with liver cancer. Fortunately, she was referred to St. Jude Children鈥檚 Research Hospital for her treatment and care, which included a liver transplant, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
Liliana鈥檚 parents are grateful for what St. Jude has done for their little girl. Her mom said, 鈥淲hen I entered the doors of St. Jude, I felt a peace and a hope that my daughter would be fine.鈥�
Brave Liliana had some rough days during treatment, but is now home with her parents and siblings, returning to her active self. 鈥淪he likes school, she likes to paint and she likes to play and run,鈥� said her mom.
